In Loving Memory of Kevin John Taylor (1973 - 2024) 

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of our dear friend Kevin John Taylor, who passed away in the early hours of 7th December 2024, at the age of 51. Kevin tragically lost his life following a violent assault, a loss that has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. 

Kevin John Taylor (1973 - 2024)

Born Kevin Taisekwa Chashamba on 28th March 1973 in Zimbabwe, he was the first born in a family of seven. A beloved member of his community and a cornerstone of Down Under Social Club, where he contributed significantly during its formative, informal phase. His passion, commitment, and camaraderie played a vital role in shaping the spirit of the club. Kevin’s presence lit up every social gathering, and his dedication to fostering connections and friendships will always be remembered. 

Beyond his involvement in the club, Kevin was a kind-hearted, vibrant soul who was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, particularly those with disabilities by sending them essential equipment and wheelchairs as part of his philanthropic work. His laughter was contagious, his wisdom invaluable, and his unwavering loyalty a testament to the man he was. 

Kevin is survived by his seven children: Takunda, Chantel, Patience, Charmaine, Chanel, Shekinah and Honour and His Partner Talia Duffus, as well as countless friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. 

A memorial vigil to celebrate Kevin’s life, was hosted by his fellow compariots from Down Under ('Pasi Pemuti') upon the request of his family on 14th December 2024 at Samra's in Walsall. We're grateful to the organizers of this event and all who attended to honor his legacy. 

A farewell service was also held at Keystone Church, Walsall in the U.K on 13th January 2025, and his remains were repatriated to Zimbabwe where he was buried. As we mourn his untimely departure, let us also remember and celebrate the light Kevin brought into our lives. His memory will remain etched in our hearts forever. 

May Kevin John Taylor rest in eternal peace.
